This amazing looking vulture lives in Africa. Surprisingly the bigger half of her diet consist of palm-fruits, but as a vulture it feeds on a wide variety of foods, including smaller mammals, reptiles.

This smaller sized macaw lives in South America: some parts of Peru, Brazil and Bolivia. The body mostly covered by olive green feathers, but the head is blue. There is a maroon colored ring around the eye.

The young Roseate spoonbill does not have the adult’s vivid plumage, but the grace of the bird is already captivating. I made this digital drawing as a study to explore the facial features: I find them complex and really fascinating in this species.

The Common kingfisher was always one of my favourite birds as it is the most colourful bird in my country (Hungary). I will never forget when the first time I saw it fishing over a lake, sitting on a dry branch and staring motionless at the water. After a few head bobbing she dove into the water and returned to the same branch with a little fish in her beak. It was an amazing first sight.

This cuckoo is common in Southeast Asia and looks like a drongo. Her call is quite sharp, like a loud whistle.
